The Black Stars defender has followed the growing trend of players lining up to pledge their future to the Ghana and says those players must simply do their hearts’ desire. Addo spurned the chance to play for Belgium in the late-90s when was named best player there to make his debut for Ghana at the 1998 Nations Cup in Burkina Faso. And he reckons that, from his experience, the likes of Kevin-Prince Boateng, Jeffrey Sarpong and Adam Larsen Kwarassey should have an easy decision to make. “It is natural people will read all sorts of meanings into their decision to play for Ghana, but if they are truly convinced about it, then I say just follow your heart. The one thing they can be sure of is that they won’t regret it because there are opportunities to play at the highest level with Ghana,” he tells KickOffGhana.com. Of the three players who have said they will turn their backs on the European countries after representing them at junior level, only Norway-based Kwarassey has backed it up with a formal expression of interest.
