AD Ceuta FC have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian forward Samuel Obeng Gyabaa on the final day of the transfer window.
The 27-year-old joins on a free after leaving Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, where he gained valuable experience, including an appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Born in Nsapor in Ghana’s Bono Region but raised in Spain, Obeng’s career comes full circle as he returns to familiar territory, having previously featured for Girona, Real Oviedo, SD Huesca, Calahorra, and Granollers.
Renowned for his tireless work rate, aerial strength, and physical presence in the box, Obeng is expected to play a key role as Ceuta prepare for their debut season in Spain’s Segunda Division.
“Obeng is a player who competes with determination, wins duels, and brings presence in the box,” the club said, expressing confidence he will quickly bond with the Caballa supporters.
For the striker who was part of Ghana’s U23 side that reached the 2019 CAF U23 Cup of Nations semi-finals, the move represents both a homecoming and a chance to reignite his career while leading Ceuta’s attack in a historic campaign.
