Peter Amidu Acquah scored deep into stoppage time as Asante Kotoko produced a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Future Stars FC in their MTN FA Cup Round of 64 clash on Wednesday.

The Ghanaian giants, who faced the lower-division side at Okese Park after the fixture was rescheduled due to congestion, were stunned early when Future Stars took the lead in the ninth minute and went into the break ahead.

Kotoko increased the pressure after halftime and were finally rewarded in the 72nd minute when in-form forward Hubert Gyau fired in the equaliser to bring the Porcupine Warriors back into the contest.

Just when the game looked destined for a replay, Acquah struck in added time, powering home a decisive effort to complete Kotoko’s comeback and seal their place in the Round of 32.

The result keeps Kotoko’s FA Cup title defence alive and spares them from an early exit in the competition.
