Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele, reflecting on the football journeys of his sons Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew, acknowledges the scrutiny and attention from fans.
Drawing parallels with his own playing career, Abedi Pele sees the fans’ recognition of talent as a testament to their unwavering dedication to the sport.
Speaking about the constant attention, Abedi Pele reveals, “They’ve never gotten it wrong. But what I can say is, that they (Ghanaians) never left me alone. When I was playing, it was the same, so I have nothing wrong with it.” He perceives the fans’ engagement as a positive sign, indicating their awareness of the players’ potential and capabilities.
Abedi Pele emphasizes that such scrutiny and attention are reserved for those who possess the talent and determination to excel in football.
He notes, “It is because they know you have it and you can do it, that’s why they come at you. If you don’t have it, nobody will call your name; if you are determined and you are good, everybody will come to you.”
