Ghana U-20 forward Abdul Hakim Sulemana aiming to surpass the achievements of his elder brother, Kamaldeen Sulemana – the former Rennes and Southampton winger.
“He [Kamaldeen Sulemana] set the standard, but I want to go higher,” Hakim told CAF online.
Growing up, the brothers played football together in their compound and streets, with Kamaldeen pushing Hakim to improve.
Hakim, who currently plays for Randers FC in Denmark, admires Kamaldeen’s success but wants to forge his own path.
“I admire what Kamal has achieved, but I want to be known for my own journey,” he added. Hakim’s talent was evident during the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, where he won two Man of the Match awards against DR Congo and Egypt.
Despite Ghana’s quarterfinal exit to Mali in a penalty shootout, Hakim’s performances showcased his potential.
