Ghanaian defender Gideon Baah has joined US-based lower-tier club Motown Celtics as player-coach.

Baah has agreed to terms with the semi-professional league club on a one-year contract. He will play alongside coach as he develops his coaching career in preparation for his retirement from playing.

The 30-year-old left-back has taken up a coaching course, which he hopes to finish by the end of the year.

Baah, a former MTN Sports Academy winner, has previously played for clubs such as the New York Red Bills and HJK in Finland.

The former Asante Kotoko player made his senior debut for Ghana in an exhibition match against Canada in October 2015. Baah has since not featured for Black Stars.
