GFA to maintain current interim Black Stars technical team for 2023 AFCON qualifiers

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to maintain the current Black Stars technical team for the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Ghana FA after the AFCON 2021 disaster in Cameroon sacked head coach Milovan Rajevac and relieved all members of his backroom staff of duty.

Subsequently, a new technical team was put together led by Otto Addo as the interim head coach.

The coaches were tasked to play the playoff tie of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Following the success of Otto Addo and his deputies, the Ghana FA has now decided to stick to the technical team for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Already, Otto Addo has confirmed that Dortmund has given him the go-ahead to work with the Black Stars until 2023.

“I got permission from Dortmund. Under certain conditions, it works out that I can do the international game phases in June, September, and also the World Cup,” Addo said in a podcast of Hamburger Abendblatt.

With that good news, the GFA has resorted to keeping the current interim technical team of Ghana national together.
