Bordeaux defender Gideon Mensah has backed Asante Kotoko to win the 2021/222 Ghana Premier League title with seven matches left to play.
The league leaders extended their lead at the top of the table to 55 points following their 1-0 win over WAFA on match week 27 at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Footballghana.com, Mensah disclosed he expects the Porcupine Warriors, who are nine points clear of second-placed Bechem United to wrap up the league title in the coming weeks.
“Yeah I think Kotoko can we win the league title. I had the chance to have a conversation with one of the players asking him if they are sure they are going to the league and he’s confident, so why not,” the Black Stars left-back said.
“Me that I’m supporting from the back, if the guy on the field is very confident that he’s going to win the league, why not, they are going to win the league.”
Asante Kotoko will host Aduana Stars on match week 28 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara stadium.
