Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku to miss Strasbourg clash against Marseille

Strasbourg will be without stalwart defender Alexander Djiku when they host Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

The Ghanaian international has been ruled out following an injury he picked up against Toulouse last week.

Further assessment by the club’s medical team has revealed a small muscle and tendon problem in his hamstrings.

The good news is that the injury is not as serious as first feared. Djiku is not expected to be out for long and will resume training sometime next week bar any setbacks.

The Montpellier-born defender has been tipped to play a key role for Ghana in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar next month.
