Athletic Bilbao manager, Ernesto Valverde has heaped praise on young forward, Nico Williams.
According to him, the Spanish forward who is of Ghanaian descent has performed very well this season and is one of the best players on his team.
While he wants Nico Williams to keep his head down and continue working, Coach Ernesto Valverde adds that the dream is to keep the forward at the club and see him become an even better player.
“Nico Williams is one more in the squad and we value him exactly the same as the rest of the players. We already know what happens with young people: their balloons swell a lot because they are predicted of their possible great potential in the future, etc.
“Now Nico is at that moment in which he has to manage it well, I think he handles it well because he is a settled kid, but we want him to be an even better player,” Ernesto Valverde said after Bilbao’s game against Getafe on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Athletic Bilbao manager is backing Nico Williams to earn a place in the Spain squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
