Rayo Vallecano host Getafe at the Estadio de Vallecas on Friday night to kick off the weekend in La Liga. The Red Sashes are seeking a fourth win from nine games this season in the Spanish top flight and crack the top half of the table.

Getafe are 16th in the standings ahead of round No. 9. The Azulones are on a two-game losing streak in the league and just one point above the relegation zone.

Rayo Vallecano and Getafe will contest a six-point relegation scrap on Friday night, as both teams should finish in the bottom half of the table.

Rayo are just four points above the relegation zone currently. They have struggled with consistency this season, and a loss to Getafe would be their second in a row.

The Red Sashes claimed a 3-0 home win last season against Getafe in La Liga. Rayo followed up the home win with a nil-nil draw away to Getafe in the reverse fixture.

Getafe took seven points from the last six games in La Liga. They were outscored 10-7 in the last six games. Just eight goals have been scored by the Azulones this season in eight matches in the league.

Rayo Vallecano picked up six points from the last six games in La Liga. The Red Sashes cannot find consistency in the division and failed to win back-to-back fixtures. Rayo were outscored 12-8 across the last six games.

Manager Andoni Iraola’s team are on a two-game winning streak at the Estadio de Vallecas. Goals are not flowing at the Vallecas, as Rayo scored just four goals and conceded four times at home.

Getafe have just three points from nine points on offer away from home in La Liga. They were outscored 8-4 in their opening three road games. Getafe did defeat Osasuna 2-0 in their most recent away fixture.

Manager Quique Sanchez Flores does not have any fresh injury problems at Getafe. He will be able to select from a fully fit squad. The team is led in goals by Enes Unal and Gaston Alvarez, with two goals apiece.

Iraola will likely be without defender Ruben de Tomas and forward Andres Martin. The former is suffering from a groin strain, and the latter has a shoulder injury.

Rayo are playing well at home, with two wins from three games. Getafe have lost two of three road matches. The Red Sashes should post a narrow 2-1 victory at home against the Azulones.
