Hearts of Oak face a daunting task of overturning a three-goal deficit against AS Real Bamako in the second leg encounter of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians are on the verge of elimination following the debacle in Mali and they now require at least four unanswered goals to advance to the next stage of the preliminary round in regulation time.
It has been seven years since Hearts attained a victory over a Malian opponent – Djoliba, over two legs in the CAF Inter-club competition.
The quest to repeat that is a major challenge as the MTN FA Cup champions have not had a smooth start to the season.
They are without a win in three Ghana Premier League matches – defeat to Aduana Stars before draws with Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko.
On the other hand, Real Bamako are yet to taste a defeat in their last four matches, having already beaten Burkinabe side, AS Douannes on penalties on their way to the current stage.
It remains to be seen how David Ocloo’s side will cause an upset in the huge encounter which comes off at 3:00 pm.
