On Sunday afternoon, two of Serie A’s in-form teams meet as Udinese hosts Atalanta at the Dacia Arena.
Udinese
The Bianconeri have been one of the surprise packages of the Serie A campaign. Andrea Sottil’s team are currently in third place in the Serie A table, just a point behind both leaders Napoli and second place opponents Atalanta.
Udinese are seven games unbeaten and have also won their last six games in the Italian top-flight. A 2-1 win at Verona in their previous league game means that the team from Udine have now scored at least two goals in five of their last six outings in Serie A.
Portuguese forward Beto has undoubtedly hit form, as the 24-year-old has scored five times in eight appearances in Serie A this season.
Sottil’s side is currently unbeaten in four home games in Serie A, recording wins in their last three league games at the Dacia Arena.
A big factor in their recent unbeaten home run is that Udinese has kept clean sheets in three of their previous four Serie A games on home soil.
Atalanta
After a slightly poor campaign by their high standards last season, Atalanta has returned to form with a bang this season in Serie A. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team is joint top with Napoli.
The Nerazzurri are unbeaten in their eight matches in the Italian top-flight this season, having recorded six wins and two draws.
Unlike their previous teams, this season’s relative success has been built on strong defensive foundations, as Atalanta has kept clean sheets in three of their last four league matches.
They have also thrived away from home in Serie A, as the Nerazzurri have won all four of their away games on their travels in the Italian top-flight.
