Ghanaian international, David Atanga received a late red over the past weekend while in action for Oostende in the match against KRC Genk.
For his punishment, the forward was initially condemned to a four-week suspension, three of which were effective and one with a postponement.
In addition, he was fined to pay a sum of three thousand five hundred euros for his reckless offense that attracted the red card.
Following an appeal on behalf of the player, the Belgian FA has agreed to reduce the sentence.
The Disciplinary Committee of the football association in the European country has decided to show him mercy.
As a result, the suspension has been reduced from four weeks to two weeks. Meanwhile, his fine has also been slashed to a thousand and five hundred euros.
