San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy to Draw in the Only MLS Game of the Weekend

It’s an all-California affair in the MLS this weekend with just the one game going ahead because of the international break as San Jose Earthquakes meet with LA Galaxy as the away side looks to stay in the playoffs.

It has been a crazy MLS season out in the Western Conference which is shown in the form San Jose. So far, they have managed to sit bottom of the table for long spells, rocket up the league closer to the playoffs, and move straight back to the foot of the table where they currently sit.

The Quakes have managed to lose 14 times in the league this season, which although is far from the worst in the western Conference, it has been one of the factors in them racking up just 31 points in the league so far.

This has mainly come down to the fact they have 10 draws in the league to this point, which is the second-most in the bottom half of the division.

The California side have also scored 46 goals in the league, which is just five fewer than the Galaxy, while it is also the same as the likes of Dallas and Minnesota United who currently sit inside the playoffs. Once again for San Jose, however, the form has gradually gotten worse.

The club have recently drawn 1-1 with third-placed Dallas at home, but with losses to Colorado Rapids and Cincinnati just prior to this, the club are sitting on a three-game winless run.

At the same time, they managed to let in nine goals in this time and score just two of their own.

As for the Galaxy, they are back in the playoffs now as they have ended what was a three-game winless run too. They managed to defeat Colorado 5-1 last time out, as Javier Hernandez scored again, although Douglas Costa got his second red card of the season and now can’t play here.

The five-time MLS Cup champions have won 12 games so far this season, losing 12 too. In other words, this may be their best chance to establish themselves as a threat for the playoff spots.

A draw is expected here for Forebet, with the Quakes rapidly improving their form over the past few months. What’s more, LA Galaxy are a mixed bag and you never know what you’re going to get from them and the likes of Javier Hernandez. Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
