FIFA approves Ghana FA’s application to sign up for Talent Development Scheme

The world football governing body (FIFA) has approved Ghana’s application to sign up for the first ever Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

The Chief of Global Football Development of FIFA, Arsene Wenger in letter copied to the Ghana Football Association General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo and the Technical Director approved the application.

However, Hesterine de Reus, a member of FIFA’s High-Performance Specialist has been appointed to provide information on how the TDS will work and how Ghana will benefit from I, including details from the initial funds and its uses.

She will also talk in greater detail about the four pillars of support that will make up the TDS.

The initiative launched in January 2020 by the Chief of Global Football Development of FIFA aims at providing member associations with a thorough analyses of their high-performance ecosystem in both men’s and women’s football, including all national teams, domestic leagues, scouting projects and Academies in order to ensure that every talented player gets a chance to reach their full potential.

FIFA expects to focus on the implementation of tailor-made technical programs for each member association with a view of tackling potential challenges and maximizing the comparative advantages that each association possesses.

Meanwhile, the technical director of the Ghana FA, Bernhard Lippert who has been instrumental in securing the programme for the Ghana FA will play a key in the implantation and execution of the program.

Over 200-member association across all Confederations have already signed up to the programme.
