Asante Kotoko players have missed out on a big reward after failing to qualify to the group stage of the CAF Champions League this season.
The management of the club made a pledge to give each player $3000 in performance related bonuses and per diem.
However, the Porcupine Warriors crashed out of the competition in the preliminary round after losing to RC Kadiogo on penalties following a 1-1 aggregate score.
Kotoko headed into the second leg at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday with a slim 1-0 advantage, but the Burkinabe outfit managed to restore parity courtesy of 15th minute free kick.
The game went straight to penalties after 90 minutes where Kotoko lost 3-1.
Asante Kotoko’s 16-years wait to make an appearance in the group stages of Africa’s biggest club competition continues.
