Asante Kotoko coach Seydou Zerbo says he is not perturbed over the absence of star striker Franck Etouga Mbella for their CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg against RC Kadiogo on Sunday.
The Cameroonian international is expected to miss the crucial fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium after sitting out the first leg due to injury.
Mbella, the club’s top scorer last season has been linked with a move to Egyptian side Al-Masry.
“Asante Kotoko is a big club and if Mbella isn’t around that doesn’t mean the club won’t be there.” Zerbo in pre-match press conference on Friday morning.
“I heard he’s is an important player but I didn’t work with him but I believe those who won in Benin can equally step up for the club.” the Burkina Faso tactician added.
The Ghana Premier League champions recorded a 1-0 win over Kadiogo in Cotonou last weekend.
Isaac Oppong’s late goal was enough to hand Kotoko a slim first leg advantage.
Asante Kotoko are aiming to reach the group stages of the CAF Champions League for the first time in 16 years.
