Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil is set to miss out on Genk’s game against Gent in the Belgian Pro League this weekend, due to injury.
The 24-year-old was substituted in the 2-1 win against Union Saint-Gilloise on Sunday after picking up a knock.
Painstil was named Man of the Match after scoring in the 2-1 win at the Stade Joseph Marien.
The winger was replaced after 37 minutes after appearing to be in discomfort following a knock, but it was enough to earn him the best player accolade.
GHANAsoccernet.com has gathered that Joseph Paintsil’s substitution by the Coach was purely precautionary.
The Ghana international will be rested ahead of this weekend’s game in order to ensure his full recovery ahead of the subsequent matches.
Genk coach Karel Geraerts does not want to lose Paintsil to a long term injury should he be rushed back to the field.
Painstil has been in superb form this season scoring four goals in eight appearances this season.
