COACH INZAGHI ON THE EVE OF MILAN-INTER –

Published: 4 years ago
Series A

On the eve of the first Milan derby of the season, Simone Inzaghi answered journalists’ questions in a press conference.

Milan have a precise and proven tactical set-up: can the derby be decided by individual duels?
“They will be very important: we know what a derby represents, for the club and for the fans. The team is getting there well, it has recovered mentally and physically. Today we’ll have the penultimate training session, then tomorrow we’ll take the field for an important match.”

How is he using the memory of last year’s game to charge his players?
“Last year we played four derbies, the last one we won 3-0 and it allowed us to win a trophy. We remember the league derby, but I think a derby loads itself. The boys have a lot of personality and great desire to play the game. We are facing the top two from last year, two strong teams with their own playing principles. Already in the first matches we saw that all matches are balanced: the episodes will make a difference, we will have to be good at directing them to our side’.

Is this the Inter you wanted?
“Absolutely yes, we can compete for important targets. The club has worked very well. I am very satisfied, the team will prove to be competitive again this year”.
