Football administrator George Afriyie has not not made a final decision on contesting for the presidential seat of the Ghana Football Association for the 2023 election.
Afriyie was a GFA boss aspirant in the 2019 elections but was beaten by current supremo, Kurt Okraku.
The owner of Division One League Planners Athletic Club, is unsure about dethroning Kurt but rather wants to “support the growth of the game”.
“I have not decided yet but I hope and I didn’t make my mind to contest any election for now,” Said George at the GFA Congress.
“We have a new football season to start and this is a World Cup year so let’s support for the success of the team and I don’t think this is the time to talk about elections.”
“We have a lot to do to support the growth of the game so let’s support and see what happens.” He added.
Afriyie announced his decision to pull out from the race for the hotseat during the 2019 election when Kurt Okraku led with 59 votes, 16 more than than himself.
But before that, he had already served as Vice to former President Kwasi Nyantakyi.
