Lille set to pick up a win at Ajaccio

On Friday night, Ajaccio hosts Lille at the Stade Francois Coty in Ligue One as the home side looks for their first league win of the new campaign.

Ajaccio

The home side has made a poor start to the new league season by picking up just one point from their opening three matches in the French top-flight.

A 2-1 home defeat against Rennes last time out means that Ajaccio has not won in four league matches, suffering three defeats in the process. They have also found league wins difficult to come by, as Ajaccio has won just one of their previous 11 matches in Ligue One.

Ajaccio has found little comfort in home advantage either, as they have won just two of their previous 16 Ligue One games on home soil. Recently it has been a tale of too many home draws, as they have drawn three of their last five league matches at the Stade Francois Coty.

Lille

The visitors have endured a decidedly mixed start to the new Ligue One campaign. LOSC kicked off the new league season with a win against Auxerre and a draw against Nantes.

However, last time out, Paulo Fonseca’s team suffered a humiliating 7-1 home defeat by PSG. The defeat against the reigning French champions ended a four-game unbeaten run in the league for Lille, dating back to last season.

One facet of their game that needs to improve in the near future is Lille’s away record, as LOSC have won just one of their previous five away games in Ligue One.

The fact that they have failed to keep a clean sheet in those five games has undoubtedly not helped their chances of picking up better results away from home.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that Lille will record a victory in a low-scoring game to negate slightly their nightmare last outing.
