Asamoah Gyan is not serious about going to the World Cup- Ex-Ghana defender Habib Mohammed –

Former Black Stars defender Habib Mohammed says he does not believe Asamoah Gyan is serious about playing at the 2022 World Cup.

The former Black Stars captain in an interview on BBC revealed he was preparing to be in shape for the World Cup.

His comments has gone viral with most Ghanaians sharing their views on whether if the Ghana legend will be fit and ready for the Black Stars ahead of the Mundial.

Habib Mohammed who played with Asamoah Gyan at the 2006 World Cup in Germany in an interview laughed off the idea about the former Ghana captain’s interest in playing at the World Cup.

“I don’t know his relationship with the GFA or his motive on why he wants to play at the World Cup”, he told Accra-based radio station Happy FM.

“If he doesn’t have any injury and his fitness is okay he can play. What shows his readiness that he wants to play at the World Cup. What shows he can’t play but the question is if he can be very competitive in the game.

He added: “I feel he is just being playful and he is not serious about going to the World Cup”.
