Hertha Berlin coach Felix Magath has heaped praise on Kevin-Prince Boateng following the veteran’s standout performance against Augsburg at the weekend.
Boateng lasted 69 minutes as Hertha recorded a precious 1-0 win on the road at the WWK Arena.
Given the stuttering form of the visitors, the win at Augsburg has sparked revival hopes – thanks largely to the performance of the former Ghana international.
And Hertha Berlin coach Felix Magath has paid glowing tribute to the German-born Ghanaian international.
“Of course it was more emotional because it was more important,” Magath said.
“It’s just a great player. It’s a shame that he’s not 100 percent fit like other Bundesliga players, otherwise he would be a giant.
Magath, on the other hand, did not want Augsburg’s narrow victory to be linked only with Boateng.
”He was very important, no question, but I don’t want to single out just one, that doesn’t do it justice. For example, if I’ve seen how who toiled in midfield, Tousart and ‘Santi’ that was great.” Dedryck Boyata also received extra praise: “Today he also showed that he is a captain who goes ahead and takes the others with him.” he added.
