Derby County’s supporters have flooded to social media on Monday evening, to heap praise on the club’s players and staff alike, despite the club’s relegation to League One.
The Rams were back in action a short time ago.
With their status in the 2nd-tier of English football hanging by a thread, Wayne Rooney and co. made the trip to Loftus Road, desperate for all three points in a meeting with Queens Park Rangers.
A late strike on the part of Luke Amos, however, ultimately condemned Derby to a 1-0 defeat.

QPR, in turn, have gotten the club’s push for a spot in the playoff places back on track.
‘Couldn’t be prouder’
At Derby, though, as alluded to above, reality will now be starting to very much settle in…
Owing to the club’s hefty 21-point EFL-imposed deduction earlier in the campaign, the Rams have seen their valiant efforts to stave off what long appeared an inevitable drop into League One officially come up short.
The East Midlands outfit will therefore be forced to ply their trade in the third tier of English football for the 2022/23 campaign.
Results this afternoon mean we’ll fall short in our attempts to overcome the obstacles in front of us this season.

But, as alluded to above, despite what is set to go down as an altogether dark day in the club’s history, many of a Derby persuasion have nevertheless this evening been keen to reveal their gratitude for the club’s staff and players alike.
Taking to Twitter in numbers, the Rams faithful have lauded the season-long survival efforts of all at Pride Park, with just some of the reaction showcased below:
Proud as fuck! It took 43 games for them to relegate us and that was always what the efl wanted but the lads should hold their heads high after an amazing season! We will be back ❤️

Positivity despite the disappointment. Have to hope we have a club at all next season and that process is underway. Despite everything there’s no doubt this has been one of my favourite seasons in recent memory. Funny how things work out!
