Portuguese club CD Santa Clara interested in HSV defender Stephan Ambrosius

The speculations concerning Stephan Ambrosius aren’t going away; the Hamburger SV defender has no future under coach Tim Walter.

“Stephan is doing really well, but he has three guys in front of him [Sebastian Schonlau, Mario Vuskovic and Jonas David] who are also doing very well. That’s why it’s difficult for him to draw attention to himself to do,” explained Walter on Thursday.

FC St. Pauli is the first to show interest: the defender is alleged to have been given to the neighborhood team recently, and the brown and whites responded positively.

According to Bild Portuguese first division club, CD Santa Clara from the Azores archipelago is interested in the 23-year-old.

On the other hand, the defender’s high salary (around 500,000 euros) could be a major issue. Should Santa Clara take over at least a portion of this, HSV would not obstruct the player.
