Ghanaians should rally behind Black Stars in Qatar – Odartey Lamptey

Former Ghana international, Odartey Lamptey has called on Ghanaians to “rally” behind the Black Stars in the upcoming FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar.

Ghana will make her fourth appearance at the global event after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia.

The love for the senior national team seem to have taken a nosedive on the back of recent disappointing performances, notably at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The Black Stars endured their worst campaign in the country’s history at the continental showpiece with a point attained after three matches.

Speaking to GNA Sports Odartey said, “Although we went through some heart’s breaks from them but l want to say that the Black Stars have gained grounds looking at their previous games.”

“All they needs now is to support them massive in theWorld Cup in Qatar” he stated.

Ghana qualified via away goal rule after playing a 1-1 against Nigeria in Abuja.

The Black Stars are in Group H together with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
