Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp featured for Crystal Palace in their 1-1 draw against Accrington Stanley in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly on Staurday.
Schlupp lasted for 45 minutes as the Eagles were held to a draw in their first pre-season game.
Patrick Vieira’s men began the game friendly on the front foot, with defender James Tomkins and winger Jesrun Rak-Sakyi both failing to hit the target inside the opening quarter of an hour.
The Premier League side broke the deadlock eight minutes later, with Odsonne Edouard feeding the ball through to Mateta and the striker slotted it calmly past Toby Savin. Savin produced two wonderful saves to keep the scoreline at 1-0, denying both Rak-Sakyi and Eze.
At half-time, Vieira made 11 changes and introduced several Academy players.
Stanley hit back quickly, a well struck volley from Matt Lowe beating Remi Matthews after a dangerous cross wasn’t cleared. They nearly had a second straight away as another challenging ball in was met by a red shirt, only for the header to cannon off the crossbar.
Palace had chances of their own but failed to score as both sides shared the spoils in an entertaining end to the game.
