Bruno Fernandes provides take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Man United exit links

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has, on Thursday, spoken out over the surprise speculation linking Cristiano Ronaldo with an exit from the club.

Recent weeks, of course, have seen Portuguese superstar Ronaldo tipped to take his talents elsewhere ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Amid suggestions of concern on the part of the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner when it comes to the direction of United as a club, Ronaldo has been tipped to seek out an exit, in a bid to stage one final push for major silverware ahead of the final years of an iconic career.

The Red Devils’ Premier League rivals Chelsea are one such club understood to be keen on the prospect of landing the 37-year-old, with some outlets having gone as far as to point towards preliminary discussions having been launched on the part of the capital outfit.

Italian giants AS Roma and Juventus have too been tipped as surprise potential landing spots for Ronaldo.

Speaking on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his compatriot’s future beyond the summer was put to the aforementioned Bruno Fernandes.

During an interview with Record in his home country of Portugal, , though, Manchester United’s star midfielder was keen to assure the club’s supporters that they need not fret.

This comes with Fernandes of the opinion that the powers that be at Old Trafford will not be ‘willing to lose a player of the value of Cristiano’.

“I spoke to him a few weeks ago,” Bruno began. “We’re both on vacation, no one bothers friends on vacation – I hope to meet him on the fourth to train there [at Manchester United ], I’m not expecting more than that.

“There is nothing more than that, but each one takes care of their future. I don’t believe that the club is willing to lose a player of the value of Cristiano.”
