Chris Hughton says he still has a lot in stock to offer as a manager despite Black Stars role as technical advicer.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager was handed role of being part of the Black Stars technical team for the World Cup playoffs against Nigeria.

He is expected to play his role until after the 2022 Qatar global football event, scheduled to start in November.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Mail, the 63-year-old said “Management is a difficult and lonely job, but we do it to improve players and teams. You must also still have the hunger and I have. I still want to get back into management.” he said.

“This is exciting, what’s coming up. Hopefully I will emerge a better manager. The exciting part with Ghana is going into the unknown. They have trusted me to do the role [technical advicer] how I see it. The question from them was simple, ‘Can you help? The answer was very much yes.”

Has was an instrumental figure to the success of the Black Stars in March as he helped the technical team with his expertise which saw Ghana progress past Nigeria for a spot at the Mundial.
