Former U20 World Cup winner Kassenu Ghandi is on the verge of signing for league leaders Accra Hearts of Oak after impressing head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Liberty Professionals versatile defender has been training with the Accra giants for close to two weeks and reports are that the Japanese trainer is impressed with him.

A source close to the technical team of the Phobians disclosed to GHANAsoccernet.com that Ghandi impressed Kenichi when he was used at the left back position.

Ghandi will however be a stop gap option for injured Isaac Oduro as Kennedy Appiah will be the only natural left back in the team for the rest of the league matches.

Kassenu Ghandi was a member of the Black Satelites side that won the 2009 World Youth Championship in Egypt.

He has had stints with BK Hacken of Sweden as well as Al Merreikh of Sudan.

The second transfer window is set to close on the 1st of June after opening on the 2nd of May.
