Kuban Krasnodar midfielder Mohammed Rabiu has begun rehabilitation after surgery on a knee injury which has sidelined him for six months.

The Ghana international went under the knife in Germany to correct the cruciate ligament rupture.

He suffered the injury after 63 minutes when they hosted Rostov in a Russian Premier League match.

Rabiu had to be replaced after 63 minutes during his 20th league appearance for his club.

The 26-year-old has been ruled out of the rest of the season and will miss Ghana’s remaining two matches in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mauritius away in June and the home clash against Rwanda in September.
