Queens Park Rangers (QPR) manager Michael Beale has disclosed how he convinced Ghana winger Albert Adomah to extend his contract.

The 34-year-old has signed a two-year deal to stay at the club until 2024.

He has been with the R’s for two years after initially joining his boyhood club at the start of the 2020/21 campaign.

Beale revealed his conversations with Adomah were hugely beneficial, explaining as quoted by the club’s official website: “We spoke a lot about himself, his past and also his future and what’s to come.”

“We also spoke about the squad as well. He has seen a lot so I respect his opinion on things.”

On Adomah’s qualities, he added, “Albert is someone who can outplay people. He has got good pace and a really good final delivery.”

“We saw a number of times last season he was the guy assisting Lyndon [Dykes] with his crossing.”

“He gives us natural width up the pitch on both sides and can also play as a wing-back as we saw last season.

“He is an important part of our squad.”

Last season, Adomah made 38 appearances for QPR, scored two goals and provided four assists across all competitions.

He has previously played for Barnet, Bristol City and Cardiff City.

The experienced winger was part of the Black Stars squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where Ghana suffered an early exit.
