Former Aduana Stars player, Emmanuel Akuoko has revealed he retired from football to have time for his family.
The 39-year-old experienced defender decided to hang his boots, in a letter sent to the club on Monday.
He was grateful to management, technical team and teammates for the support throughout his 15-year-stay in Dorma.
In an interview with Kumasi based radio station, Sikka FM, Emmanuel stated that his retirement from active football was engineered by his family.
“My retirement from football was a family decision,” Akuoko stated.
Akuoko was as part of the squad that won the Ghana Division One League and got promoted to the Ghana Premier League in August 2009, the first time in the club’s history.
He subsequently won the Ghana Premier League twice in the 2009/2010 and 2017 season in addition to the Super Cup in 2018.
