Laliga giants FC Barcelona are set to table an official bid for Chelsea FC defender Andreas Christensen in the coming weeks.
The 25-year-old is yet to sign a new deal with the Blues with talks between him and Chelsea having hit a snag and according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona wants to test Chelsea’s resolve by bidding for the Danish international.
Christensen’s current Chelsea contract runs out at the end of the season, and the defending European champions have failed to strike a deal in order to keep him at Stamford Bridge with the situation alerting a chunk of teams in Europe who are interested in his services.
It is ‘really complicated’ for #Chelsea to reach a contract extension agreement with Andreas Christensen. Barcelona and Bayern Munich are both interested – ‘they really want him’.

Apart from Barca, Bayern Munich are said to be interested in the player as they are in the market for a player to replace Niklas Sule who will be joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Just as Barca, Bayern are said to be preparing a bid worth €11m-per-season for the player. This represents a significant improvement to his reported €5m-per-season salary he earning at Stamford Bridge.
The defender is said to be demanding a better deal as he feels he is among the best players on the side.
