Al-Nassr are close to securing the future of right-back Nawaf Boushal after reaching a near-final agreement to extend his contract by a further four seasons.
The Saudi Pro League club have held direct negotiations with Ali Al-Rumaih, Boushal’s representative, and talks have now advanced significantly, according to a source who spoke to Al-Riyadiya.
The financial details and other terms of the proposed agreement are expected to be finalised in the coming period before an official announcement is made.
Al-Nassr are keen to complete the deal because Boushal is approaching the final six months of his current contract in January. From that point, the 27-year-old would be entitled to negotiate with other clubs.
Boushal joined Al-Nassr from Al-Fateh in January 2023 on a five-season professional contract. Since then, he has become one of the players regularly relied upon by the club at right-back.
He has made 138 appearances for Al-Nassr, scoring three goals and providing 19 assists. During that time, he has received 15 yellow cards and been sent off twice.
The defender was also part of the Al-Nassr side that won the Roshn Saudi League title last season, further strengthening the club’s desire to retain him for the coming campaigns.
Boushal’s importance also extends to the international stage. He has played 31 matches for Saudi Arabia and was included in the squad that won the Gulf Cup on 6 October, following a 2-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates.
That international involvement, alongside his consistent role for Al-Nassr, has increased the importance of completing the renewal as the club plan for the future.
