محمد ابو تريكة criticised Real Madrid’s performance after the first half of their Champions League league-phase match away to AEK Athens.
AEK Athens took the lead in the 12th minute through Aboubakary Koita, before Jude Bellingham equalised for Real Madrid in the 32nd minute.
Koita’s goal followed an impressive piece of skill inside the penalty area, as he dribbled past Marc Cucurella in a tight space before finishing into the net.
Speaking during half-time analysis on beIN Sports, former Al Ahly and Egypt forward Aboutrika joked about Cucurella’s attempt to defend the move.
“Cucurella only needs Lamine Yamal,” he said, laughing. “But here, he is not pressing.”
Aboutrika said Real Madrid had made a poor start and accused their players of showing a lack of seriousness.
“Real Madrid’s players began the game with excessive flair and obvious carelessness,” he said. “They produced a very weak first 30 minutes.”
He then turned his attention to the identity of one of the defenders, making a sarcastic reference to Netherlands international Denzel Dumfries.
“Who does Dumfries play for?” Aboutrika said. “I do not know whether he plays for Real Madrid or AEK.”
He continued his criticism by directing his strongest comments at Real Madrid’s defence.
“Real Madrid’s players are being dribbled past using wireless communication,” he said. “It is as if someone says, ‘Hello, come here so I can dribble past you.’ They are being beaten far too easily.”
