Ghana will face hosts and defending champions Senegal, Mozambique and Uganda in Group A of the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
The draw took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2026, at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Ghana’s Black Sharks will begin their campaign against Senegal, the record holders and most successful side in the history of the competition. Senegal have won the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations seven times and will host the tournament as reigning champions.
The group-stage draw gives Ghana a demanding route into the knockout phase, with Senegal’s record and home advantage followed by a meeting with a Mozambique side regarded as one of Africa’s quickest-rising beach soccer nations.
Ghana will complete their Group A fixtures against Uganda.
The Black Sharks secured their place at the tournament by defeating arch-rivals Nigeria 10-7 on aggregate in qualifying. The first leg ended in a 3-3 draw in Nigeria, before Ghana produced a 7-4 victory in Keta to seal qualification.
Their return to the continental competition provides Ghana with the opportunity to test themselves against the leading beach soccer teams in Africa. The Black Sharks last appeared at the tournament in 2024 and will be seeking a strong showing on their return.
The competition will be staged in Senegal, who will take on the dual role of hosts and defending champions.
The top two teams in each group will progress to the semi-finals. The winners of those matches will reach the final and qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Ghana’s qualification follows a decisive performance against Nigeria and sets up an opening fixture against the side with the strongest record in the tournament. They will then meet Mozambique before facing Uganda in their final group match.
