The continuation of the WAFU Zone B qualifying final between Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Nigeria’s Edo Queens FC will be played in Egypt on 28 or 29 October 2026, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed.
The match will restart at the beginning of extra time with the scores level at 2-2.
The two sides will contest two 15-minute periods. If there is still no winner after extra time, the tie will be decided by a penalty shoot-out.
CAF also confirmed that a new group of match officials will oversee the resumed fixture.
The decision follows the annulment of Edo Queens’ 4-1 victory on penalties in the original match, after Ampem Darkoa successfully challenged the outcome.
The WAFU Zone B qualifying final was initially played on 5 September 2026. CAF said its decision was based on subsequent rulings by the CAF Organising Committee for Women’s Football on 26 September and the CAF Appeal Board on 16 October.
In a letter sent to both clubs, the governing body formally set out the arrangements for completing the fixture. The venue in Egypt and the exact date, either 28 or 29 October, were not specified in the announcement.
The winner will qualify as WAFU Zone B’s representative at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, which is also scheduled to take place in Egypt.
Ampem Darkoa have already been placed in Group B for that tournament. They will face Moroccan side AS FAR, Mali’s USFAS Bamako and Kawempe Muslim Ladies from Uganda.
The 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League is due to be held from 1 November to 15 November 2026, meaning the resumed qualifying final will take place shortly before the competition begins.
The outcome of the extra-time replay will therefore determine whether Ampem Darkoa retain their place in Group B as WAFU Zone B’s representatives, or whether Edo Queens take the qualification spot.
