Salem Al-Dawsari has returned to Al Hilal’s headquarters to continue his rehabilitation after around six weeks out with a hamstring injury, taking another step towards a return to competitive football.

The Al Hilal captain was shown at the club’s training base in a video published on the team’s official account on X. His arrival marks the start of a new stage in his recovery after he underwent surgery on his hamstring tendons.

Al-Dawsari has been away from matches and full team training since the operation. He is now following an individual rehabilitation programme under the supervision of Al Hilal’s medical staff, with the next phase expected to focus on rebuilding his fitness inside the club’s conditioning facilities.

The work will be increased gradually as his recovery progresses, with ball training set to be introduced at a later stage.

Al Hilal said Al-Dawsari has now completed approximately six weeks since undergoing surgery. He is expected to require a further two to four weeks before he can return to full participation, although the exact timetable will depend on ongoing medical assessments.

If his rehabilitation continues without any setbacks, the 33-year-old could return to action after the next international break. He would then be expected to rebuild his match sharpness and gradually come back into the plans of the coaching staff.

Al-Dawsari underwent surgery on his hamstring tendons in July. Initial estimates suggested he would be unavailable for at least six to eight weeks, meaning he is now approaching the anticipated return window.

The forward is an important figure for Al Hilal, having captained the club and played a prominent role in the team’s recent campaigns. His return to the club’s facilities does not mean he is immediately ready to play, but it indicates that he has moved into the later stages of a recovery programme that began after surgery.

The medical team will continue to monitor his progress before clearing him to resume team training and competitive involvement. Any decision on his return will therefore be based on his physical response during the remaining rehabilitation period.
