The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has presented brand-new buses to RTU, Rospack FC, Port City FC, Dreams Ladies and Police Ladies as part of a drive to improve the welfare and operational capacity of domestic clubs ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The presentation took place during the GFA’s 32nd Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The five buses were lined up at the venue and made ready for collection by representatives of the beneficiary clubs.

The initiative is part of the GFA’s wider Bus Acquisition Strategy, led by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku as the association attempts to address some of the basic challenges affecting football clubs in Ghana.

Travel is a significant operational and financial burden for many teams in the country. Clubs often cover long distances for league and cup fixtures, frequently while working with limited resources. The provision of dedicated buses is intended to reduce that pressure and improve the safety, comfort and professionalism of travelling players and staff.

The latest allocation continues the GFA’s investment in transport support at different levels of the domestic game. The association has previously provided buses to clubs competing in the Division One League, with the policy designed to strengthen the foundations of football in Ghana.

Access to reliable transport is also expected to help clubs organise their away trips more effectively. Teams with their own buses can have greater control over travel schedules and reduce the costs associated with hiring vehicles for matches outside their home areas.

For RTU, Rospack FC, Port City FC, Dreams Ladies and Police Ladies, the buses represent a significant club asset rather than simply a method of getting to fixtures. They can support the clubs’ daily operations and help ease some of the financial demands involved in running football teams.

The presentation forms part of the GFA’s broader ambition to create a more professional environment across Ghanaian football. The association has identified improvements to the basic infrastructure surrounding clubs as an important step towards making domestic competitions more stable and better organised.

President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has described the need to “fix the fundamentals” of the game, and the bus programme is intended to provide clubs with some of the essential resources needed to compete effectively.

The GFA believes better transport arrangements can also contribute to the smoother running of domestic competitions. By reducing the logistical difficulties associated with away matches, the initiative is expected to support clubs at both an operational and financial level.

With Ghana preparing for another domestic campaign, the latest bus presentation gives the five beneficiary clubs a practical boost before the 2026/27 season. It also underlines the GFA’s stated commitment to improving the infrastructure, welfare provision and day-to-day conditions surrounding the country’s domestic game.
