Al-Nassr have sent Brazilian winger Wesley Teixeira on loan to Cruzeiro until the end of next season, with the Saudi Pro League club set to pay only 20% of his wages during the move.
The transfer was confirmed by Al-Nassr in a post on the club’s official account on X, marking a second consecutive loan spell away from the Saudi side for the 21-year-old.
Cruzeiro will cover the remaining 80% of Wesley’s salary, according to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya. The agreement does not include an option for the Brazilian club to sign him permanently when the loan ends.
Wesley’s move to Brazil follows a short spell at Real Sociedad during the second half of last season. He made only five appearances for the Spanish club and did not score or provide an assist.
The latest loan underlines the difficulty Wesley has faced in establishing himself at Al-Nassr since joining from Brazilian club Corinthians in the summer of 2024.
He has played 40 matches for Al-Nassr across all competitions since arriving, scoring five goals and registering five assists. However, he has been unable to secure a regular starting place in the team.
His time at Real Sociedad was his first temporary departure from Al-Nassr, but limited opportunities meant he returned without making a direct contribution to a goal. He will now continue his career in Brazil with Cruzeiro, while Al-Nassr retain his registration under the terms of the agreement.
The loan also reduces the proportion of Wesley’s salary that Al-Nassr must pay. The Saudi club will remain responsible for one-fifth of the player’s wages, with Cruzeiro taking on the larger share for the duration of the arrangement.
There is no provision allowing Cruzeiro to make the transfer permanent at the end of next season, meaning Wesley is due to return to Al-Nassr once the loan period is complete.
The Brazilian joined Al-Nassr after developing at Corinthians, but his 40 appearances for the club have not translated into a settled role. His statistics in Saudi Arabia stand at five goals and five assists, while his five-match spell with Real Sociedad produced neither a goal nor an assist.
Cruzeiro therefore become the latest club to provide Wesley with an opportunity for regular first-team football, after his lack of consistent starts at Al-Nassr and his restricted involvement in Spain.
