Medeama SC president Moses Armah says the Ghanaian champions will provide head coach Ibrahim Tanko with the resources required to mount a successful CAF Champions League campaign.
The Yellow and Mauve secured their place in CAF’s premier club competition by winning the Ghana Premier League last season and will now represent Ghana on the continental stage.
Armah says the club’s management is focused on giving Tanko and his technical team the support needed to prepare a competitive squad. That backing will include efforts to strengthen the playing group, as well as the logistical assistance required for the campaign.
Speaking ahead of Medeama’s preparations for the tournament, Armah said the club’s ambitions extend beyond simply taking part. Management wants the team to represent Ghana with pride while also making a meaningful impact against some of Africa’s leading clubs.
He added that the club would work closely with the coaching staff to identify and address the team’s requirements before the competition begins. Player recruitment will be one of the key areas under consideration, alongside the wider organisational support needed by the team.
“We are committed to equipping the head coach [Ibrahim Tanko] with everything necessary to build a competitive team. Our goal is to have a successful CAF Champions League campaign and make our supporters proud,” he said.
Medeama will be seeking to improve on their previous performances in continental football as they prepare for the challenge ahead. Their participation will place them among the clubs competing in Africa’s leading club tournament, with the Ghanaian side expected to face strong opposition during the campaign.
