Caleb Yirenkyi has been named the Danish Superliga’s most admired player after winning a vote conducted among rival supporters.

The Ghana international, who plays for FC Nordsjaelland, received 17.4% of the votes in a poll run by Danish outlet Bold. Opposition fans were asked to choose the player they most enjoyed watching, with Yirenkyi finishing at the top of the poll.

The award adds to the growing recognition surrounding the 20-year-old midfielder after an impressive 2025/26 campaign. Yirenkyi established himself as one of the leading midfielders in Denmark’s top division and played a central role in FC Nordsjaelland’s season.

He made 30 league appearances, scoring twice and contributing six assists. Those numbers reflected his increasing influence and marked another step in his rapid development since moving into European football.

Yirenkyi’s performances for his club were also carried over to the international stage with Ghana. He featured in all four of the Black Stars’ matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, underlining the confidence placed in him at senior international level.

The midfielder marked his World Cup involvement with a goal against Panama in Ghana’s opening group match. It was a notable moment in a tournament that further raised his profile alongside his consistent displays in the Danish Superliga.

His latest honour highlights the respect he has earned beyond his own club. Being selected by rival supporters as the player they most enjoy watching underlines the impression made by his style and performances during the season.

The result also strengthens Yirenkyi’s reputation as one of Ghana’s most promising young players. His combination of regular league football, attacking contributions and international experience has helped accelerate his emergence as a significant talent.

Yirenkyi will now prepare for the new season with FC Nordsjaelland, carrying the momentum of a campaign in which he made an impact both domestically and with the Black Stars.
