Malmo FF striker Markus Rosenberg beats Ghana attacker Accam to top Swedish award

Swedish striker Markus Rosenberg has beaten Ghana attacker David Accam to the Swedish striker of the year award and will be handed the prestigious award at the end of the season. 

The Malmo FF forward beats Accam to the award following his influential scoring form which has propelled Malmo to retain their Allsvenkan title and keep them in the Uefa Champions League.

Accam was gunning for the award with his impressive scoring form for Helsingborg IF in the Swedisg Cup and the league but Rosenborg has beaten him to it.

The 23-year-old has netted 23 goals in all competitions in the current Swedish season, including 6 from the Swedish Cup and 17 from the league.

Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris came close to winning the award two years ago but he lost out to Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
