Ghanaian centre-forward Edmund Baidoo of Red Bull Salzburg is attracting interest from Belgian side Club Brugge in a potential summer move from the Austrian Bundesliga to the Jupiler Pro League. The 20-year-old, who is under contract with Salzburg until 30 June 2029, has emerged as a possible attacking reinforcement for the Belgian club as they assess options at centre-forward.
Baidoo joined Salzburg from Norwegian side Sogndal on 29 August 2024 for a fee of around €3.3 million and has since worked his way into the first-team picture. In the Austrian Bundesliga he has made 45 appearances, scoring nine goals and registering six assists, establishing himself as a regular option in Salzburg’s attack.
Any negotiations are likely to be shaped by Salzburg’s valuation, with Baidoo currently rated at around €8 million. With three years remaining on his deal, the Austrian champions are under no immediate pressure to sell, which could influence both the size and structure of any formal offer from Brugge.
Baidoo has also gained experience in European competition with Salzburg, featuring in both Europa League and Champions League qualifying campaigns, as well as in domestic cup matches. That exposure outside the league is understood to be part of what has drawn attention from abroad.
For now, Baidoo remains a Salzburg player preparing for the new season, with Club Brugge monitoring the situation as they weigh up whether to turn their interest into a concrete bid.
