Head coach of the Ghana women’s national under-17 football team, Joe Nana Adarkwa, has invited 30 players to begin preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualification.

The selected players have been asked to report to camp at the GFA Technical Centre as the national team begins its build-up toward the qualifying matches.

The call-up marks the start of preparations for the Black Maidens as they attempt to secure a place at the next edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Ghana’s youth side is returning to the qualifiers after missing out in recent years and will be hoping to make a strong impression this time around.

The first leg of the qualifying tie is scheduled to be played between April 10 and April 12, 2026 in Lomé. The return leg will then be played in Ghana between April 17 and April 19, where the Black Maidens will attempt to complete the task in front of their home supporters.

Players invited to the preliminary squad reported to camp on Tuesday, March 10, as the technical team begins evaluating options and building a competitive team for the qualifiers.

The training sessions are expected to help the coaching staff assess the fitness and readiness of the players while also improving team chemistry.

The camping exercise will also provide the opportunity for the technical team to gradually trim the squad before the final list is announced for the crucial qualifiers.

The U-17 Women’s World Cup tournament itself is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this year. Several teams from across the world will compete in the event after progressing through their respective regional qualification campaigns.

For Ghana’s Black Maidens, the immediate focus remains on preparing well for the upcoming fixtures and securing a place at the global tournament.
