Qarabag forward Emmanuel Addai has fond memories of playing at Anfield against Liverpool in the Champions League.
The Azerbaijan side lost 6-0 to the Reds on the final day of the league phase.
“It was very special,” he told 3Sports, describing the experience as a dream come true.
“Liverpool is my favourite team and a dream club for me.”
Addai kept his emotions in check, focusing on enjoying the moment.
“Playing at Anfield against the team I grew up watching was emotional. I kept my feelings inside and just enjoyed the moment.”
He was impressed by the high level of football, citing players like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
The match also gave Addai a chance to swap jerseys with Salah, a player he admires.
“Watching players like Mohamed Salah and Van Dijk up close was amazing. The level of the English league is very different and very high.”
