Defending champions Ghana’s U15 girls’ national team, the Black Damsels, are gearing up to defend their title at the upcoming CAF African Schools Football Championship finals.
The prestigious tournament, organized by the Confederation of African Football, will take place in Maputo, Mozambique, from April 2 to April 10, 2026.
The championship has quickly established itself as one of Africa’s premier youth football platforms, aimed at nurturing emerging talent and strengthening grassroots development across the continent.
Ghana’s Black Damsels head into the competition brimming with confidence after their historic triumph in the previous edition — a victory that highlighted the nation’s rising prominence in women’s youth football.
The team, assembled under the supervision of the Ghana Football Association in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, is expected to face stern competition from other top African school sides.
As anticipation builds toward kickoff in Maputo, the spotlight will firmly be on the Black Damsels as they aim to successfully defend their continental crown and further cement Ghana’s reputation in youth women’s football.
