The Burkina Faso Football Federation is in talks with Ghanaian coach James Kwesi Appiah to potentially take over as head coach of the senior men’s national team.

Appiah, known for his experience in African football, is being considered for the role, with discussions reportedly underway.

Appiah’s coaching credentials include leading Sudan’s national team, and his experience could be valuable for Burkina Faso’s team development.

The Burkina Faso Football Federation is likely looking for a coach with African football knowledge and experience to guide their team.

Kwesi Appiah led Sudan to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 where the team was ousted by eventual winners Senegal despite taking an early lead.

Burkina Faso on the other hand bowed out at the same stage, albeit suffering a 3-0 loss to Ivory Coast.
